The Good Practice Guidelines 7.0 has recently undergone a revision which resulted from the developments of the latest international best practice and industry standards as well as customer needs. This alignment was essential to face the current and future business continuity challenges. The GPG 7.0 edition encompasses the progressive evolution of business continuity as a discipline and highlights a Business Continuity Management System as the realization of business continuity management. The “CBCI Refresher Course” provides detailed information about revised terminology, reflection of best practice, enhancements of practical and managerial areas, etc.

Course Description

• A new focus on the Business Continuity Management System
• The previously termed Business Continuity Management Lifecycle has been replaced by the more scalable and holistic term: Business Continuity Management System.
• In creating the Business Continuity Management System, the GPG 7.0 edition uses a methodology designed to be applicable to all organizations, regardless of size, industry sector, or geography.

Course Objectives

This 1-day CBCI Refresher Course has been designed exclusively for professionals who have passed any past version of the CBCI Exam and are looking to bridge the knowledge gap between the Good Practice Guidelines Edition (GPG) 2018 edition and the GPG Edition 7.0.

The course will outline the alignment of the new GPG with other international standards and latest industry thinking. It gives an overview of updated terminolgy and enhances made to the Professional Practice areas to position the 7.0 Edition in line with international best practice.

Do you need to retake the CBCI Examination?

After becoming acquainted with the new GPG 7.0 Edition, you can sit the new 7.0 exam but it is not compulsary to maintain your current CBCI or higher status. It will be beneficial to resit the examination for those industry professionals that wish to get recertified to prove that their knowledge is aligned to latest industry standards.

Attendees must have a CBCI qualification.

Fees

The course fees include an electronic copy of the BCI Good Practice Guidelines. The BCI uses data from the World Bank to determine the pricing structure. The course fees are depending on the place of residency/ company registration.
