Course Description
This course is about understanding supply chains, how they are managed and how to ensure that resilience measures are included within them, and therefore the continuity of the business. It will enable delegates to engage with those responsible for procurement, contracts, legal and the supply chain to ensure that business continuity requirements and resilience are embedded into the organisation’s supply chain processes.
In the current climate of pandemic lockdowns, social distancing, financial austerity, volatile markets and globalisation, supply chains are under severe and complex global pressure. Suppliers may operate in areas of the world that suffer from considerable threats from severe weather systems, corruption, crime and many other logistical problems.
On this course you will learn how to approach and educate procurement and contract teams and their stakeholders in the business benefits of Supply Chain Resilience, cost benefit analysis and return on investment. Students will learn the terminology used by procurement professionals and contracts departments, and how to work with them so that contracts are awarded to the most resilient suppliers.
This course is based on the BCI Good Practice Guidelines and reflects the current global thinking from ISO 22301 and ISO /TS 22317 and ISO /TS 22318.
